Dental tourism India:
India's top-rated education system is not only churning out computer programmers and engineers, but an estimated 20,000 to 30,000 doctors and nurses each year. India has the potential to welcome over a million medical tourists annually, says the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). India is a recent entrant into medical tourism. According to a study by McKinsey and the Confederation of Indian Industry, medical tourism in India could become a $1 billion business by 2012. The report predicts that: “By 2012, if medical tourism were to reach 25 per cent of revenues of private up-market players, up to Rs 10,000 crore will be added to the revenues of these players”. The Indian government predicts that India’s $17-billion-a-year health-care industry could grow 13 per cent in each of the next six years, boosted by medical tourism, which industry watchers say is growing at 30 per cent annually.

Increasingly dental tourism is becoming an extremely viable sub industry under the medical tourism umbrella. Dental care in India is relatively cheap compared to the Western World. Cost of dental implants, veneers, root canals and more are relatively less even post factoring in travel and stay costs to India. The health care and medical treatment that you get in India will cost you a fraction of what you pay in your own country. For example, when medical treatment costs in India are compared to similar procedures in the US or the UK, they are lower by at least 60 to 80 %.
Of course the main comfort factor for visiting India for treatment is the provision of medical facilities which are internationally accredited. The latest technology is used here and can be compared with any medical centers in the world. The physicians and surgeons are highly qualified and so is the hospital support staff.
